Five ways you can help the Wildsense project

Aaron Mason

The Wildsense Tigers app has now been active for two months. Since it has been launched we have had incredible support and we are frequently asked how people can help us. This post highlights five main ways that you can help us with the project but of course your support is not just limited to the items below.

1. Contribute your tiger photographs

We are certainly not short of tiger photographs however we are looking for quality photographs to add to our collection. If you have images from a safari, research trip or other activity we would be delighted to hear from you. This will help us build a larger database and reveal more insight into the global tiger population.

2. Technical support

We are currently maintaining a server, iPad application and website for this project and we want to produce a version of the Wildsense Tigers game that work across devices based on web technologies, as well as updates to the existing version. If you think you can help with the design or development of this we would love you to contact us.

3. Additional projects

Our first game was focused on tigers. However, we are aware that our platform can be used for other causes as well. If you are part of a conservation programme have you considered a similar app for your project? Please get in touch if you have any ideas or suggestions and would like to collaborate on your project.

4. Play the game

Of course, by simply playing the game you are contributing to the experiment. Please download the Wildsense Tigers game and join the community.

5. Share with colleagues, friends and family

There are currently over 300,000 photos in our database of which we can now confirm 1342 tiger photographs have been fully validated. Many more photographs have been discarded. This is a great start but there is so much more to do and we need more people playing the game to reach our goal and analyse all the photos (which are increasing every day).
Please share this project with your friends, family and colleagues.

If you would like to support us in any other way please contact us or post a comment below. Thank you for your ongoing support.
